Twins and Multiple Birth Insurance

About the Policy

The birth of a child can put an additional financial strain on most family budgets, a multiple birth will just increase the problem. This insurance will provide a lump sum payment if two or more babies are born, which will assist with the purchase of necessities such as extra cots, clothes and so on. It could also assist with the cost of employing someone to help at home during the first few weeks.

A benefit can be chosen from £1000 to £5000 and Subject to the details provided regarding Expectant Mothers and Fathers family histories on the application form a quotation will be given.

Please note that the maximum Sum Insured available to Insured Persons in the Medical Profession is limited to £1000 until such time that written confirmation is received from the Insured that they have no access to Ultra Sound Scanning equipment.

If more than two children are born, the sum insured will be doubled at no extra premium.

Please note we cannot provide a quotation if the Insured has undergone infertility treatment within the last two years.

What is Not Insured

A multiple birth:

More than six weeks before the expected date of birth unless medical evidence is provided to us to show that the growth and development of the babies equates to the expected date of birth
Which follows the use of any fertility treatment or fertility enhancing drugs
Where a fully completed, dated and signed application form, doctors certificate and payment has not been received within the first 11 weeks of the pregnancy and before any scan has taken place
